La Gritona is a 100% blue agave reposado tequila aged in ex-whiskey barrels for 8 months. We like it for its fresh, green, and vegetal flavor profile. There is some caramelization, but it's not as whiskey-like as many other reposado tequilas. The flavor is much more mineral forward and bright with tropical fruits. La Gritona is woman distilled by Melly Barajas and produced by a staff of local women at a small distillery in Valle de Guadalupe. The bottles themselves are hand blown and made from recycled Mexican glass.
